Explore the life and legacy of Louis "Diamond Jack" Alterie, the enigmatic figure whose name shone brightly in the annals of American Prohibition history.

Through a narrative woven with threads of adventure, danger, and intrigue, we'll uncover Alterie's rise to prominence in the tumultuous 1920s and '30s, from his humble beginnings and Colorado ties to his ascent as one of the most notorious bootleggers of the time. Alterie's story will also be part of our Murder, Mayhem & Moonshine exhibit, brought to you by DCL Archives & Local History.
