Heroines of the West

Voices from History

Join Legendary Ladies as they bring history to life through captivating performances.

Travel back in time with us to hear the remarkable stories of real women who made a significant impact on the American West. Experience the lives and legacies of Amelia Earhart, Miriam Davis Colt, Mary Madeline "May" Bonfils Stanton, and Calamity Jane through engaging monologues. Witness history through their eyes and gain a deeper understanding of their extraordinary contributions.

This performance is open to all ages.

More about the Legendary Ladies:

The Legendary Ladies, founded in 1992, grew from early members’ mutual love of women’s history, costumes, and performance. Known for their first 13 years as The Shady Ladies, the group participated in a variety of parades and festivals and developed their signature performance, “Unconventional Women of the West.”

In 2005, members voted for a change of name to The Legendary Ladies and also decided to focus more on historical performance. As a result, members have researched and written scripts for one to five or more different women from the time period of the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s.

Our mission is to promote the history of women who made unique contributions to the West.
