Event Hall A - ParkerAdults & Teens ages 16+. Whether you're an aspiring author or artist, this class is your launchpad into the world of children's book illustration.
Taught by published illustrator and industry veteran, Kateri Kramer, you'll explore the basics of KidLit art—from character concepts and scene creation to storyboarding and composition.
Through creative exercises and guided activities, you'll begin to develop your own illustration style and learn how to visually bring a story to life. No prior art experience needed—just a sketchbook, your favorite drawing tools, and a willingness to explore!
What You’ll Learn:
- Brainstorming, sketching & loosening up
- Basics of character and scene development
- Storyboarding, thumbnails & composition
Be sure to bring: Pencil/eraser, sketchbook, and your media of choice (markers, watercolor, etc.).
