Event Hall B - ParkerWhat if meditation didn?t require you to quiet your thoughts first?
Somatic meditation offers a different approach by using the body—breath, physical sensations, and the feeling of being grounded—as an anchor for attention.
In this introductory session with Dr. Sandeepa Sur, explore the science behind attention and interoception, the brain’s ability to sense and process signals from within the body, and why body-based meditation practices can be an accessible way to cultivate awareness. You’ll then be guided through several practices, including grounding, a body-based breathing practice called Earth Breathing, and a brief period of open sitting.
No previous meditation experience is necessary.
